Common DuClaw Mistakes to Avoid

Downloading from unofficial sources
Only download from the official site. Third-party sites may distribute outdated or modified versions. Bookmark the official URL and always check you are on it before downloading.

Ignoring permission prompts
DuClaw requires specific system permissions to function. Dismissing or denying these during setup causes features to silently fail later. If you accidentally denied a permission, go to your device settings and re-enable it manually.

Setting the wrong timezone (ArkClaw / DuClaw)
If DuClaw involves scheduled tasks, a wrong timezone is the most common reason tasks fire at the wrong time. Set it to Asia/Shanghai (UTC+8) during initial setup.

Commands that are too vague
"Help me with my work" tells DuClaw nothing actionable. Be specific: include the target (which app/file), the action (open, summarise, search), and the desired output. Vague inputs produce vague outputs.

Not testing the connection first
Before relying on DuClaw for anything important, send a simple test command to verify everything is working. Discovering a connectivity issue mid-task is frustrating and avoidable.

Installing unverified Skills or plugins
The original OpenClaw ecosystem contains Skills with security issues. Always use the official Skill marketplace and avoid installing capability packs from unofficial sources, even if they look legitimate.

Expecting it to handle payment and banking
AI agents deliberately cannot access payment PINs or complete financial transactions that require authentication. This is a security feature, not a bug.

Treating it as a search engine
DuClaw is an agent, not a search box. It can execute tasks, not just retrieve information. Use it for multi-step work, not single-answer lookups.

Not iterating on instructions
If DuClaw misunderstands a task, refine the instruction rather than repeating it verbatim. Add more context, break it into smaller steps, or specify the format you want the output in.
